Electrical charge is either positive or negative.

Like charges attract each other.

Two positive charges will repel each other.

Two negative charges will attract each other.

A positive charge and a negative charge will attract each other.

Metals are insulators.

In a metal structure, the metal atoms exist as positive ions surrounded by an electron cloud.

In an insulator, electrons move freely along the length of the material.

All metals are good electrical conductors.

Glass is an excellent electrical conductor.

Rubbing insulators together can generate static electricity.

Electrons are the heaviest particles in an atom.

Protons and neutrons are found in the nucleus of an atom.

When an atom gains an extra electron, it becomes a positively charged ion.
